For more apps there’s The Sony Entertainment Network. Connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet and access the BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Facebook and YouTube. There’s a simple web browser included too, while DLNA support lets you stream music or video from other sources connected to your network.
Independent rear speakers
To avoid lengthy wires crossing your room from front to rear, the Sony BDVN5200W uses a wireless rear amp unit that feeds the rear speakers independently. This allows the use of shorter speaker cable for not just tidier looks but also improved sound quality.
