8 WAYS TO INVEST LIKE WARREN BUFFETT ๐Ÿ“ˆ (Investment Strategy)

As of 2017, Warren Buffett has a net worth of 72.7 billion in US dollars. It would make sense that many of us would like to learn about investing like Warren Buffett. Here are 8 ways you can start investing like Warren Buffett today!

1. Invest in the everyday essentials.

Warren Buffett owns Berkshire Hathaway, and within the portfolio of the assets that company owns are insurance companies, utilities, energy companies, railroads, retail stores, finance companies and manufacturing companies. Berkshire Hathaway has holdings in Duracell, GEICO and Wells Fargo.

2. Trust your gut.

Buffett always invests in companies he trusts. He considers factors such as reputation of the company, public behavior, accountability of management as well as how the company treats executives, employees, communities and the environment. Ethics matter to Warren Buffett.

3. Ignore the news headlines.

Buffett says that no long-term good can come of reacting to today’s economic news. He has a rule he sticks to; the government will always act to stabilize the economy, and opportunities are hidden here. He suggests investors think a few steps ahead of the news.

4. Study return on assets.

If you want to invest like Warren Buffett, you will need to study the assets a company owns. Buffett suggests you look for a 20 percent return on assets consistently. He also suggests watching trend lines.

5. Observe from the sideline.

Warren Buffett suggests building a watch list of companies and observing the companies over time. Watch how well the company makes money as well as how the stock reacts. He suggests looking for a company consistently making money but has a stock that may be out of whack.

6. Think long term.

Warren Buffett recommends investing long term. If you invest in a company, plan on holding onto that stock for at least 5 years.

7. Buy index funds.

Buffett recommends that anyone who is too busy to follow the previous strategies should just invest in index funds. He recommends these as they almost always outperform the underlying stocks.

8. Give back!

Warren Buffett is a firm believer in giving back. He has donated a total of $25 billion to charity. He gives most generally to his kids’ foundations and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett has pledged to give away 99 percent of his wealth rather than pass it down as an inheritance.
